Control methods have been established for MEC’s roughening solutions and treated surfaces through years of use in printed circuit board manufacturing process.

Three categories of AMALPHA quality control

There are three AMALPHA quality control categories: ① Control of chemical solutions, ② Control of treated surfaces, and ③ Control of resin molding. Of these categories, the control of treated surfaces (②) is detailed under “Treated Surface Analysis/Control Method.” Moreover, control of resin molding requires molding manufacturers’ specialized control scheme since molding methods are diverse.

Chemical solution control and replenishment methods

Measure analysis parameters such as metal ion and acid concentrations* by titration or other methods, identify and calculate the type and amount of the chemical solution to be replenished, and replenish it. Automatic analyzers are available for some types of chemical solution.

*Control parameters differ with the type of chemical solution.

Concept of chemical solution replenishment: quantitative control and replenishment method

By replacing 10% of the solution with a fresh amount of the solution and maintaining the concentration of the solution within a certain range, uniform treatment conditions are maintained constantly.

Concept of solution replenishment: quantitative control and morning and evening titration

The consumption of the chemical solution is proportional to the treated quantity. It is an efficient way of solution control to replenish the solution according to the treated quantity when the line is in operation and to adjust the solution accurately according to the results of solution analysis by titration at the beginning of work.
