AMALPHA treatment in general

Open all answers

What metals are suitable for AMALPHA treatment?
Currently, copper, aluminum, stainless steel (SUS), nickel and iron can be AMALPHA-treated.
Can alloys be AMALPHA-treated?
AMALPHA treatment can be performed on many alloys although this depends on the component elements. Almost all aluminum alloys (1000, 2000, 3000, 5000, 6000 and ADC12) can be AMALPHA-treated. Moreover, brass, bronze and many other copper alloys can be treated. However, some types of alloy (e.g., C5210) are not suitable for AMALPHA treatment. Please contact us for more information on treatable alloy compositions.
Is it possible to roughen resin surfaces?
The AMALPHA treatment is a metal surface treatment technology. It is not designed for treating resin surfaces.

About AMALPHA treatment solutions

Open all answers

Is it possible to treat all metals by using one type of chemical solution?
Different solutions should be used to treat different metals, although one solution can be used to treat different varieties of alloy (e.g., A1000 and A2000 groups).
Does the AMALPHA treatment meet the RoHS regulations?
None of the six substances covered by RoHS regulations are contained in MEC’s chemical solutions.
